Information, Advice and Guidance

Aim

To offer free impartial Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to support the development of individual planning.

Objectives

  • To undertake a face-to-face meeting with the prospective learner and employer to discuss appropriate training routes, programmes and available funding
  • To provide the learner with as much relevant literature and information to ensure the correct choice of course is made
  • To outline and provide the type of support to be expected by the learner for the duration of the course
  • To undertake a training needs analysis to ensure the learner selects the correct course and level
  • To refer the learner to another appropriate agency or training provider (if applicable)

Business Training Solutions are a local training provider promoting opportunities to develop the skills of individuals and organisations through work-based training activities.ALL training and assessment takes place in the learner’s place of work on a date and time suitable to both the learner and employer. BTS operate on a roll-on, roll-off basis, ie learners can commence a programme of study at any point during the year. All learners are allocated an assessor who will work with them on a one-to-one basis for the duration of the course.

Business and Administration

These qualifications are suitable for those who undertake administration related activities.The aim of the qualifications is to recognise the skills and competencies of candidates in the work place.The qualifications provide individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in business administration.The units encompass a broad range of competencies from the administration sector.

  • Level 1 – 2 mandatory + 2 optional units
  • Level 2 – 2 mandatory + 3 optional units
  • Level 3 – 2 mandatory + 4 optional units
  • Level 4 – 2 mandatory + 4 optional units

Teaching Assistant

These qualifications are designed for teaching assistants who support the learning process by working alongside teachers in the classrooms.

  • Level 2 – 4 mandatory + 3 optional units
  • Level 3 – 4 mandatory + 6 optional units

Customer Service

These qualifications are aimed at learners who undertake a customer service role and recognise that employment in the customer service sector involves a diverse range of functions, tasks and activities that are constantly developing and changing.

  • Level 1 – 6 mandatory units
  • Level 2 – 2 mandatory + 5 optional units
  • Level 3 – 2 mandatory + 6 optional units
  • Level 4 – 2 mandatory + 7 optional units

Assesor and Verifier Awards

The assessor awards (A1 and A2) are suitable for those who assess NVQ candidates using a wide range of assessment methods. The verifier award (V1) is suitable for those who internally verify the NVQ assessment process.

  • A1 – 1 Unit (4 elements)
  • A2 – 1 Unit (4 elements)
  • V1 – 1 unit (4 elements)

BTS staff are keen to ensure that all learners meet their full potential and therefore prior to induction a training needs analysis is undertaken to ensure the correct course and level is appropriate to the job role.If BTS are unable to offer the appropriate course learners will be referred to another training provider or careers advice agency.
